Obituary

William "Bill" Gary Shawen, Jr, 85, a lifelong resident of Anne Arundel County died on July 15, 2021 at Hospice of the Chesapeake.

He was born on March 1, 1936 in Annapolis, Maryland to the late Myrtle and William G. Shawen , Sr.

Mr. Shawen worked for Product Support for 41 years as an operations manager retiring in 2016 at the age of 80.

He enjoyed crabbing, spending time with his family and his beloved dogs.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Georgia R. Shawen, and his sisters Shirley Shawen and Virginia Johnson.

He is survived by his children Karen Banse, Sherrie Nickerson (Steve), and Gary Shawen (Madalyn), his sister Margaret Ward, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Friends may visit on Monday, July 19 from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home, P.A. where funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Doug Seibert on Tuesday at 11:00 AM.  The funeral service will also be livestreamed on Stallings Funeral Home's Facebook page (click HERE) and on the bottom of the obituary page.
