William Cole, 74, a 28 year resident of Pasadena, MD and formerly of Dundalk, died on November 1, 2020 at FutureCare Chesapeake in Arnold.
Mr. Cole was born on December 11, 1945 in Baltimore, MD to the late Leroy and Hannah Cole. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War after training at Fort Gordon in Georgia. During his tour of combat, William earned multiple distinctions, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, 2 O/S Bars, and the Expert Badge Rifle.
After returning from the service, Mr. Cole worked as a Police Officer and Homicide Detective for Baltimore City for 33 years and then spent another 17 years serving at the State Attorney's Office. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Outside of work, William enjoyed shopping, shooting pool, watching NCIS, and was an avid collector of guns, knives, and hats.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cole is preceded in death by his brother, Charles "Buck" Cole and sister, Betty Kline. He is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Nancy Cole; 2 daughters, Tracy and Kelly Cole; and 4 cats, Hanna Marie, Dorothy Rose, Billy Boy, and Charley.
Family and friends may visit on Saturday, November 7 from 3-6 p.m. at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Rd., Pasadena, MD 21122 where funeral services will begin at 6:00 p.m. Interment private. Please be aware that, due to county-mandated COVID-19 restrictions, Stallings Funeral Home is only allowing 60 people in the building at a time and face coverings must be worn while inside.
