William Stroble Boyd, a lifelong resident of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 30th, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on a crisp Monday, November 5th, 1951, in his beloved Baltimore, William embraced life with an infectious enthusiasm, leaving a lasting legacy amongst his family, friends, and the local community.
William's professional life was a captivating tapestry woven with skill and dedication. Alongside his brother George, he owned and operated Boyd Drywall, a business known throughout Baltimore for its quality and reliability. William later discovered his true passion and became a licensed taxidermist, a career he lovingly dedicated 35 years to, turning his dreams into reality by founding Cameron Creek Taxidermy, which flourished for over 25 years.
A devout outdoorsman, William was a proud member of the Hip Boots Hunting Club on the Eastern Shore. He also hunting on the property in Howard County. He cherished the solace of nature, sharing many an adventure and tale from the wild with friends and family. His self-taught skills in taxidermy were a testament to his love for animals and his meticulous craftsmanship. He possessed a green thumb, finding peace and joy in gardening, nurturing plants with the same care he gave to those around him.
William was preceded in death by his father, William Boyd, his mother, Marie Boyd, his cherished son, Cameron Boyd, and his brother, Joe Boyd. His spirit and stories live on through those he leaves behind: his devoted wife, Tricia Callahan-Smith, his loving brother, George Boyd, his cherished daughter, Corbyjean Smith, his beloved niece, Sophia Boyd, and the joy of his great-nephew, Joseph Boyd. Each held a special place in his heart and continues to carry forward his legacy of warmth and wisdom.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate William's life at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland. An evening visitation will take place on Thursday, April 3rd, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a funeral service to begin at 7:00 pm. All who knew William are invited to join in remembering his remarkable life and the countless ways he touched the hearts of those around him.
