William Arrington, Jr. Obituary

William “Pop-Pop” Leroy Arrington, Jr., 80, a 52 year resident of Pasadena and formerly of Glen Burnie, MD, died at his home on August 12, 2021.

Mr. Arrington was born on August 29, 1940 in Baltimore, MD to the late William Sr. and Vena May Arrington. He graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1959 and served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1966, during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in both France and Germany and he married Inge Breithaupt.  Together they would spend the next 55 years building a beautiful family through their daughter and two grandchildren. He loved his family, especially his grandkids, and took every opportunity he could to visit them in the Outer Banks.

Outside of his family life, Mr. Arrington worked as a warehouseman for UMBC for 23 years, retiring in 2006. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, having breakfast at the Double T Diner, and cracking jokes with family and friends – his smile and laughter were truly infectious. William also attended Magothy United Methodist Church in Pasadena.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Arrington is preceded in death by his brother Charles Arrington and his sister, Alice Keys. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Inge Arrington; daughter, Angela Woody and her husband, Carl, II of Manteo, NC; 2 grandchildren, Ryan Woody and his wife, Jamie of Charlotte, NC and Lauren Woody of Manteo, NC; and nieces, Coulette Emerson and Donna Layman, both of Glen Burnie, and Louann Rhoades of Texas.

The family will hold a private memorial at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund or the Humane Society, 1255 23rd Street, NW, Suite 450, Washington, DC 20037.
