Ward Vernon Brumfield, Sr., a devoted family man, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on July 15, 1956, in Baltimore, Maryland, Vernon resided in Pasadena, Maryland, creating a life rich in love, laughter, and lasting bonds.

Vernon was the cherished husband of Wendy Lynn Brumfield of Riviera Beach, Maryland. Together, they built a family grounded in love and support. He is survived by his children, Vernon "V" Brumfield, Jr. and his wife Kristy, and Megan Brumfield and her husband Christopher. Vernon also leaves behind his treasured grandchildren, Joshua and Alyssa Brumfield.

His family was his pride and joy, and his presence will be deeply missed by his sister-in-laws Verna Marlow Woolford and her husband Rick, and Cyndi Teeter and her husband Gary Henley. Vernon's nephews, Ricky Woolford, Nick Woolford, and Paul Teeter, also held a special place in his heart. He is additionally survived by his wife's stepfather Eli Solomon.

Vernon was preceded in death by his loving parents, Ward Vernon Brumfield, Sr. and Catherine Brumfield.

A dedicated truck driver by profession, Vernon's true passions lay beyond the road. He was an avid Redskins fan but also found joy in boating, fishing, crabbing, and playing a mean game of pool and cards, often with a twinkle in his eye and a hearty laugh. A fan of classic rock, his life was underscored by a soundtrack of unforgettable tunes.

Vernon had a personality that filled a room with jokes and banter that could lift any spirit. He was known for his friendly teasing and was always ready with a joke to brighten someone's day.
