Walter Clifton Henderson, Sr., 87, a 20 year resident of Glen Burnie, MD and better known as “Bear” or “Champ,” died on October 20, 2020 at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
Walter was born on December 27, 1932 in Baltimore, MD to the late Charles and Catherine Henderson. He worked as a Machinist for Harbison Walker and retired from there after 32 years of service. During his retirement years, he loved golfing and was an active member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church and the Ferndale Community Club. Above all, Walt deeply loved his wife and every one of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He treasured the time he got to spend with each of them. He loved the Orioles and Ravens and was a huge rooter for his teams and was well known and loved as the “King Snacker” in the family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Henderson is preceded in death by his first wife of 32 years, Clare Henderson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Janet E. Henderson; sons, Walt Jr. (Patti) Henderson, Bill (Terri) Henderson, and William J. Milleker, Jr.; daughters, Cathy (Lee) Bailey, Joan (Ed) Petrice, and Karen (George) Rains; sisters, Mildred Keefe and Dawn Green; sister-in-law, Geraldine Burgess; grandchildren, Loren Hampton, Julie (Nick) Gray, Jenna (Dan) Knutsen, Melissa (Dustin) Baldwin, Samantha (Mike) Lowery, Keirstin Henderson, Brittani (Danny) Testerman, Kristi (Nathan) Volke, Joshua Rains, William J. (Brooke) Milleker, III, Brandon Milleker, and Layla Garner; great-grandchildren, Leah and Nate Knutsen, Emily, Brendan, and Ella Baldwin, Camden Lowery, and Luke Volke; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit on Friday, November 6 from 10-11 a.m. at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Rd., Pasadena, MD 21122 where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
