Vivian Lee Titus-Day, 74, a resident of Pasadena for over 30 years, passed at her residence on September 18, 2021.
She was born on June 2, 1947 to the late Henrietta Crump-Titus and the late Robert Henderson Titus in Queens General Hospital, Jamaica, NY and raised in Amityville, Long Island, NY. She graduated from Copiague Jr.-Sr High School, Copiague, LI, NY in the class of 1965.
Mrs. Day served honorably in the US Army from 1976 to 1979. She earned her masters degree and worked in various positions such as a published Author, a tutor, therapist, Director of kinder-care, and while in the Army, a food inspector. For several years she ran her own day care facility and was fondly known as “Miss Vivian” to the children she cared for while their parents went to work.
Mrs. Day was a member of the Antioch Church in Arnold where she was the pre-school Director, taught Sunday school and started a puppet ministry. She was also a member of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority. She loved her family and helping people and as a result volunteered at her local soup kitchen helping to feed people in need. Mrs. Day also enjoyed reading the Bible, gardening, word puzzles, crocheting, knitting and various other crafts.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Day is preceded in death by her brothers Robert Henderson Titus, Jr. and Herbert Chester Titus. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Joseph Day, her children Justin and Kimberly Day, her siblings Hubert William Titus and Theresa Ann Titus-Lawson, her granddaughter Harmony Vivian Day and a host of cousins.
Friends may visit for viewing on Monday, September 27 at the Stallings Funeral Home, P.A. from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday September 28 at 11:00 AM at the Antioch Church 1535 Ritchie Hwy Arnold, MD 21012. Interment will be at Maryland Veterans Cemetery.
