Virginia Potter Obituary

Virginia Potter, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, just days shy of her 96th birthday. Born on February 25, 1930, in Baltimore, Maryland, Virginia lived a life filled with love, joy, and adventure.

Virginia was the devoted wife of the late Mr. Earl Potter and was preceded in death by her parents, Alice Herbert and Frank J. Herbert, along with her spouse and nine siblings: Edward, Stanley, Leonard, John, Florance, Jennie, Leona, Charles, and Louis. Despite these early losses, Virginia's resilience and strength of spirit shone through, endeared her to all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving children: Karen Doggendorf and her husband Bill; grandchildren: William Doggendorf and his wife Patricia, Kristie Babicky and her husband Glenn Jr.; and her treasured great-grandchildren: Braylon Babicky, Chase Doggendorf, Avery Babicky, and Kiley Babicky. Each of them brought immense joy and pride to her life.

In her teens, she was an in-store clothing model for department stores. Virginia found joy in her passions and pastimes. When her daughter was a student at Riviera Beach Elementary School, she volunteered as a classroom mother and participated in the minstrel shows held at the school. She was an avid fan of paint-by-numbers and needlepoint, crafting many beautiful pieces over the years. Virginia also found delight in the thrill of slot machines, combining her love for gambling with frequent visits to casinos.

A lover of animals and the serenity of nature, Virginia cherished her years living on the banks of the Magothy River, where her love for the water was apparent to all who visited her riverside abode. Dining out was one of Virginia's favorite pursuits, with the Double T Diner holding a special place in her heart as her favorite eatery.

Virginia's tenacity, combined with her gentle spirit and warm smile, drew people to her. Her love for life, laughter, and her strong will shall always be remembered and celebrated by her family and friends.

Friends and family may visit on Friday, February 20th from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122, where a funeral will be held on Saturday, February 21st at 10:30 am. Interment will take place at Loudon Park Cemetery immediately following the funeral services.

Virginia, though you have left this world, your spirit, love, and kindness will remain in our hearts forever. Rest in eternal peace.
