Valerie Faith Ferguson, 81, a resident of Maryland for 65 years and formerly of New York, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024 in her home.
Mrs. Valerie Ferguson was born September 4, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Ralph and Roberta DiSalvo. After obtaining her high school education, Valerie went on to work for South Baltimore General Hospital for 20 years. From there, she worked as an Administrative Assistant for Rockwell Collins' ARINC until her retirement after 20 years of service. She was a fabulously talented cook, baker, and crocheter. She loved crocheting baby clothes and scarves. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, dancing, listening to music, singing, and camping. She also had a passion for shopping and had an impeccable sense of fashion. She always knew how to dress for any occasion. She was a dedicated caregiver to her family. Whenever someone was hurt or sick, you could always count on her homemade chicken and dumpling soup to aid in the recovery process. She was described as being feisty, kind, and giving; you would never leave Val's home empty-handed. She was also very proud of her Italian heritage. What she loved most of all, was spending time with her family. She was an excellent wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Val is preceded in death by her sister, Lynda Messina and son-in-law, Matthew Waters. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, William Ferguson; children, Donna Waters, Ralph Gianetti and his wife Tracey, Bobby Ferguson and his wife Nancy, Brian Ferguson and his wife Jen, Steven Ferguson and his wife Nori; grandchildren, Zachary Waters, Autumn Waters, Austin Milito, Zoey Gianetti, Brandy Ferguson, Carter Ferguson, Spencer Ferguson, Maddie Ferguson, Ben Ferguson, Conner Ferguson, Emily Ferguson, Abigail Ferguson, Kayla Ferguson, Tyler Ferguson, and Kira Ferguson.
Friends and family may visit Tuesday, May 28th from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122 where services will be held Wednesday, May 29th at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Glen Haven Memorial Park immediately following funeral services.
