Thomas William Reichard, 92, a 20 year resident of Fort Washington, MD and formerly of Stone Harbor, NJ, died on August 2, 2020 at FutureCare Chesapeake in Arnold, MD.
Mr. Reichard was born on August 12, 1927 in Stone Harbor, NJ to the late John and Helen Reichard. He attended Temple University and served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Thomas eventually began a career with the Department of Housing and Urban Development and retired from there after many years of service. He was also a member of Foundry Methodist Church in Washington, D.C.
In his spare time, Thomas received his Pilot's license and enjoyed flying in and out of the local airport in Indian Head, MD. He also had a lot of fun racing Mini Coopers at Summit Point in West Virginia.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Reichard is preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and John Reichard. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Alice E. Reichard; sister Pauline, 3 brothers Tom, Bob and John, 1 adopted brother Clarence, 3 nieces, Pat, Rebecca, Nicole, 2 nephews, George Andreae and John; and numerous great and great great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, August 5 from 6-8 p.m. at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Rd., Pasadena, MD 21122 where funeral services will take place on Thursday, August 6 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at St. Paul's Methodist Church Cemetery, 11000 H G Trueman Rd., Lusby, MD 20657. Please be aware that, due to county-mandated COVID-19 restrictions, Stallings Funeral Home is only allowing 35 people in the building at a time and face coverings must be worn while inside.
