Susan Margaret Gorecki, a cherished resident of Curtis Bay, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24th, 2026, at the age of 75. Born in Baltimore on January 2nd, 1951, Susan was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Frances Gorecki.
Susan spent most of her life in Curtis Bay, where she was known for her warmth, humor, and generosity. She was also a graduate of Saint Michael's Business School in Baltimore.
Susan cherished her role as a loving and devoted grandmother. Her family will fondly remember her quick wit, her kind heart, and her legendary Black Walnut Cake that was the centerpiece of countless family gatherings. Susan's lively spirit also shone through in her love for dancing in her younger years, especially the Polka, a joyful tradition passed down from her mother.
Susan is survived by her loving children: daughter Jeannie Berkeridge; daughter Karen Torres and her husband Rich; and son Joe Carpenski and his wife Ellisa. She is also survived by her brothers Tom and Bob Gorecki. Her vibrant spirit will continue to inspire her grandchildren: Krystina, Zach, Ryan, Franci, Tristan, Sydney, Aerial, and Ellie, as well as her great-grandchildren: Carson, Thomas, Jackson, Abby, and Karter.
Susan was preceded in death by her father Frank Gorecki, mother Frances Gorecki, and brothers Frank and Don Gorecki.
A memorial service to celebrate Susan's life will be held at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland, on Sunday, April 26th, 2026. Afternoon visitation will be available from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm, followed by the memorial service officiated by Steve DeLisle at 4:30 pm. Interment Private.
Susan will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
