Steven Charles Hoppe, a son, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025, at his residence in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Born on June 28, 1956, in Baltimore, Maryland, Steven lived a life filled with adventure, dedication, and love.
Steven was the cherished son of Melva Ellen Blevins and the late Henry Hoppe. He leaves behind his adoring mother, two sons, a brother, and a sister. He is preceded in death by his 3 sisters.
A talented carpenter by trade, Steven possessed a remarkable ability to transform ordinary wood into works of art. He was also an enthusiastic member of AA in his younger years, where he formed lifelong friendships and resided within a warm and supportive community.
Steven had an exceptionally keen eye for discovering the extraordinary in everyday life. He delighted in collecting old coins and finding hidden treasures at yard sales. His innate luck in uncovering lost or forgotten valuables was legendary, and he left a legacy of cherished knick knacks that hinted at his unique ability to locate fortune wherever he went.
An easygoing gentleman with a quiet personality, Steven could often be found walking, his preferred mode of transportation. He loved to share tales of his long journeys, including one extraordinary 18-mile walk that became a part of family folklore.
Those who knew Steven will always remember him for his humor and memorable anecdotes. To walk alongside Steven, even for a short distance, was to experience warmth, happiness, and a congenial spirit that touched all who met him.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Steven's life at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland. Visitation services will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral services will take place the following day, June 30, 2025 at 12:00 pm. Interment will take place immediately following services at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
Steven Charles Hoppe will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. His stories, humor, and gentle guidance will forever inspire those he leaves behind. May he rest in peace, free to wander on a new journey.
