Stephen Bell Obituary

Stephen Bell, Sr., 90, a recent resident of Pasadena, MD, died on Saturday, November 4, 2023.

He was born on Sunday, June 18th, 1933 in Atlantic City, New Jersey to the late Carl and Olga Bell.

Mr. Bell served honorably in the US Army during the Korean War. After the military he went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Science and Commerce from Drexel University where he was Captain of the lacrosse team and a member of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. He raised a family in Glen Burnie Maryland until 1984 when his job as an engineer with Western Electric took him to Graham, NC, just prior to his retirement with 30 years of service. After the death of his wife in 2001, Mr. Bell eventually relocated to Florida where he remained until his health brought him back to Maryland. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed hunting and crabbing. He also had an artistic side and enjoyed playing the piano and painting.

In addition to his parents Mr. Bell is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years Lila Bell, and his brother Ivan O Bell. He is survived by his daughter Cynthia "Cindy" Barrigar and her husband C. Paul, Jr., his son Stephen Bell, Jr. and his wife Carla, his grandchildren Melinda Strevig (Dave), Calvin "Paul" Barrigar, III, Stephen Bell, III ( Ellen), Zachary Bell (Alice), Andrew Bell, Jonathan Bell, and Quentin Bell; his great grandchildren Charlotte, Alexandra, Dawson, and Calvin IV.
