It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stanford Deen Carson Sr., a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, who left us on Friday, January 24th, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on Friday, May 27th, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland, Stan lived a full and vibrant life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and craftsmanship.
Stan resided in Pasadena, Maryland, where he built not only a home but also a sanctuary filled with cherished memories. A devoted husband, he is survived by his beloved wife, Li Lan Carson. Together, they built a strong family foundation that continues through their children: Julie Marie Carson, Danielle Lynn Deane (Jared), Stanford Deen Carson, II, and Bethany Alice Mays. His legacy also lives on through his adored grandchildren: Jeremy Michael Carson, Kaitlynn Marie Carson, Coralynn Jubal Deane, Ava Rose Deane, Wesley Stanford Deane, Stanford Deen Carson, III, Lilly Ann Carson, and Evander Dean Mays, with a new grandchild, Atreus Mays, expected with joy. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Michael Xander Carson.
Stan was preceded in death by his sister Shirley and his parents, Howard and Eloise Carson, who instilled in him the values of hard work, integrity, and love for family. He is survived by his sister, Linda, and his brother, Steve, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A master carpenter by trade, Stan's skilled hands created beauty and function in every stroke. He shared his talents with countless projects, leaving an indelible mark in his community and beyond. His commitment to craftsmanship was paralleled by his dedication to his country, having served honorably in the US Army. He was a proud Vietnam veteran.
A true Marylander at heart, Stan adored crabbing, fishing, boating, and summer days spent savoring the local delicacy, Maryland blue crabs. His sense of humor was just as strong as his sometimes-stubborn will; he could light up a room with a well-timed joke or a playful teasing.
Stan traveled the world, experiencing its vast beauty, yet he always cherished the warmth of family gatherings above all. He possessed an unparalleled love for his family, and his grandchildren were the light of his life, each one holding a special place in his heart.
As we remember Stan, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering love. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him, and his stories will be shared for generations to come.
