Shirley Jean Smith

Shirley Jean Smith, 72, a seven year resident of Catlett, Virginia and formerly of Pasadena, Maryland died on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Prince William Medical Center in Manassas, Virginia.

She was born on Tuesday, December 12th, 1950 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Willard Jay Mitchell and Nellie Pearl Mitchell. Mrs. Smith was an excellent pianist and had a wonderful singing voice.  She loved to sew and was always ready to make a quilt or comforter or anything the house needed. .

Mrs. Smith is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Larry G. Smith; her daughter Tonja Jean Howell and her husband  Jesse of Maryland; her sisters Diane Hawn and her husband William of Louisiana, and Donna Hay and her husband Paul of Texas; her grandchildren Amanda Howell- Peters and her husband Kevin, Alexander Howell and his wife Robin, and Adam Howell; and her great grandchildren Aden Howell, Ella Miller, Ashton Howell, Archer Howell, Madison Peters, Brooke Peters, and Summer Peters. 

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Stallings Funeral Home Pasadena, MD from 6:00 to 8:00 pm where funeral services will take place on Wednesday at 11:00 am.
