Shirley Virginia Shacka, 89, a resident of Pasadena, MD for most of her life, passed away at home on Friday, July 3, 2020.
Mrs. Shacka was born on December 27, 1930 in Baltimore, MD to the late Richard and Rose Mixter. She was a dedicated homemaker who also served for a while as a bookkeeper. She was also a faithful member of Living Word Seventh-Day Adventist Church for over 40 years where she taught Sunday School classes and volunteered with the children's Pathfinders Club. In her spare time, Shirley enjoyed collecting stamps and traveling all over the United States.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shacka is preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 30 years, Gabrale Shacka; brothers, Richard and Donald Mixter and Bill Mitten; sister, Doris Jerigan; and 3 grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Paul White of Pasadena, Jamie White of Curtis Bay, and Ronnie White of Pasadena; Darlene Lewis of Pasadena, Sandy Gray of Pasadena, Cathy Hanneken of Glen Burnie, Susan Marshall Gregory of Georgia, Laura Mixter of Georgia, and Bonnie Cook of White Marsh; brother, Robert Mixter of Georgia; 24 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, July 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Rd., Pasadena, MD 21122 where funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment private. Please be aware that, due to county-mandated COVID-19 restrictions, Stallings Funeral Home is only allowing 35 people in the building at a time and face coverings must be worn while inside.
