Shirley Johnston, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17th, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on August 29th, 1942, in Bucyrus, Ohio, Shirley lived a life full of love, dedication, and selflessness.
Shirley proudly drove a school bus for R.E. Wilson and Sons for over 30 years, safely transporting children for the Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Her tireless work ethic and commitment to her job made her a cherished member of her community.
She was preceded in death by her dear parents, Charles Weldon Webb and Margaret Helen Webb; her grandson, David Young; and a great grandchild.
Shirley’s memory will be fondly cherished by her loving family: her daughters Lori Forsythe (Macky) and Linda Helmick (James); her son Christopher Young (Kimberly); and her brother Jim Webb (Peg), with whom she shared a special bond. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Jeffrey (Chrissy), Heather, James, Christa (Paul), Brittany, Christopher, Cole (Angel), and Madison, as well as 14 great-grandchildren and one precious great-great-grandchild.
Shirley's greatest joy came from her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and solving word searches. She was particularly fond of butterflies and was known for her exceptional cooking, which brought her family together on numerous occasions. Her big heart and generous spirit were constants in the lives of those she loved, always putting others before herself.
Shirley's love of family extended to her favorite shows, "Ninja Warrior" and "Family Feud," which brought her joy and laughter. Her gentle nature and kindness will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
A visitation to celebrate Shirley's life will be held at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland, on Monday, December 22nd, 2025, with an afternoon session from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and an evening session from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The funeral service will also be held at Stallings Funeral Home on the same day at 8:00 pm. Interment private
