Shirley E. Adams

Shirley Elizabeth Adams, 79, a lifelong resident of Pasadena, MD, died on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at her residence. 

She  was born on Sunday, September 19th, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Benjamin Alder Sr. and Levinia Alder. Mrs. Adams worked as a secretary for the University of Maryland, retiring after 25 plus years of service .   She enjoyed taking cruises with family and friends, traveling the US by land and sea and boating on the Maryland waters with her late husband.  Mrs. Adams was kind, funny, and giving.  She greatly enjoyed organizing events to bring people together often by organizing bus trips to New York, cruises to the Caribbean or weekend excursions to the ski slopes with her friends in the South City Pleasure Club. 

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, David Adams.  She is survived by her children, Robert Dorman, Cheryl Dorman, and Elizabeth Cuffley; her siblings Chris Bratton, Linda Tillery, Benjamin Alder, Jr., and Charles Alder; grandchildren, Carson Green, Alyssa Matthews, Samantha Matthews, Claire Cuffley, and Robert Brinkley.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, August 25th, 2023  at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm where funeral services will take place on Friday, August 25th, 2023 at 5:00 pm.
