Shawna Lee (Braley) Merrill

Shawna Lee (Braley) Merrill, of Halethorpe, Maryland, passed away on May 29, 2026, after a short illness. She was born on March 21, 1960, in Skowhegan, Maine, to the late Douglass E. Braley and Judy A. (Knight) Pontiff. Shawna attended and graduated from Queensbury High School in New York. She later moved to Maryland, where she met and married her best friend and beloved husband, William (Will). Together they built a life filled with love and laughter, spending time camping, boating and fishing and enjoying their many pets. Shawna also had a special love for gardening and cooking. She especially loved the Christmas holidays and decorating the house. She was the second of three daughters and is survived by her husband William (Will) Merrill, her mother, Judy Pontiff; her sisters, Kathy J. NassrElgrgawi (Nassr) and Lynn M. LaFond (Bryan); and several nieces and nephews. Shawna will be remembered with love and affection by those who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of family and friends. A Celebration of Shawna's life will be held on June 20, 2026 at Severn Christian Church, 8132 New Cut Road, Severn, MD 21144. Doors open 10 am with a service at 11 am.
