It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ryan Dexter Wallace, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. Ryan passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on January 11, 2025, just one week shy of his 40th birthday. He was a resident of Pasadena, MD, and was born in Trenton, New Jersey, on January 18, 1985.
Ryan was a man of exceptional talents and interests. A proud graduate of North East High School, of Pasadena, MD in 2003, he filled his life with diverse passions. His love for lacrosse led him to both play and coach the sport, sharing his enthusiasm and skills with many young athletes. Music was another of Ryan’s great loves; he played in a band and found joy and solace in listening to music from all genres. Ryan also loved adventure, including skydiving, and enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors.
After graduating, Ryan honored a family tradition of military service by serving in the United States Marine Corps for eight years. He was a proud member of the Marine family and the Fleet Reserve Association. Following his military service, Ryan pursued a bachelor’s degree and embarked on a successful career with Salesforce.
Ryan was also an avid leatherworker who turned his passion into a business and spent countless hours building remote-controlled cars. His outgoing and friendly nature, coupled with a smile that could light up any room, endeared him to everyone he met. Earlier in his life, Ryan was a member of the Volkswagen Club, where he shared his love of cars with fellow enthusiasts. Additionally, Ryan served as a firearms instructor with the family business, Safety First Firearms and Defense LLC.
Above all else, Ryan deeply loved his family. He is survived by his devoted parents, Voyd and Rory Wallace of Pasadena, MD; his brother, Christopher Wallace Sr., and sister-in-law, Ashley Wallace, of Greensboro, MD. Ryan was a cherished uncle to his niece and nephews, Anthony, Christopher Jr., Enzo, and Mila, who will all miss him dearly. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Amanda Eskridge of Trenton, NJ, and his paternal grandparents, Voyd and Caroline Wallace of Chance, MD. Ryan also leaves behind his loyal feline companion, Gryphon, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends formed in childhood and through the Marine Corps. Ryan’s love for his family and friends was evident in the way he spoke about them and shared cherished memories. He was preceded in death by his uncle Mark Eskridge, his aunts Darlene Eskridge and Michelle Filkins, and his uncle Rueben Wallace.
