Ruth, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in Carlisle, PA. Born on April 19, 1937, in Baltimore, Maryland, Ruth led a vibrant and fulfilling life, deeply touching the lives of everyone she met.
A recent resident of Carlisle, PA, Ruth had previously spent many cherished years in Pasadena, Maryland, where she formed lasting friendships and warm memories. An industrious and dedicated worker, Ruth served as a financial clerk for over 30 years at the Department of Motor Vehicle, leaving a legacy of precision and kindness that lasted long after her retirement in 1999.
Beyond her professional life, Ruth was a passionate caretaker and creator. She found immense joy in nurturing her grandchildren and was a constant source of love and support. Ruth also delighted in dancing and sewing, skillfully crafting all her own work attire with care and a personal flair. Her talent extended to crocheting, producing beautiful pieces treasured by her family and friends.
Ruth is survived by her loving daughter, Kimberly Ruth Stowe, and her son R. Scott Graf and his wife Marcey. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Kristen, Kathryn, Jennifer, Matthew, Marykate, Joshua, and Mariah, as well as her seven great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harry William Strong, her mother, Ruth Virginia Strong, her brother, William 'Billy' Howard Strong, and one great-grandson.
A visitation will be held at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland, on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm officiated by Matthew Hilpert.
