Ruth Elizabeth (Knight) Snowden

Ruth Elizabeth Snowden, a beloved resident of Glen Burnie, Maryland, peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 12th, 2026, at the age of 91. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on Saturday, April 7th, 1934, Ruth lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to her family and her community.

A devoted homemaker, Ruth found immense joy in caring for her family, exemplifying love and warmth in every aspect of her life. Known for her gentle yet spirited nature, she cherished spending time with her loved ones, whether during family gatherings or while simply supporting them from the sidelines of their lives. An avid sports fan, Ruth enjoyed cheering on her favorite teams and events, particularly football, horse racing, and the Olympics.

Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years, Millard Earl Snowden; her father, Russell Knight, and mother, Florence Knight; her son, James Bruce Snowden; her daughter-in-law, Pamela Snowden; and her granddaughter, Jennifer Turc. 

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family: her children, Linda Turc, Millard T. Snowden, Sr., Craig Earl Snowden, and Gary Russell Snowden and his wife Kathy; sisters Helen Davis and Florence Knight; grandchildren: Billy, Deanna, Heather, Kimberly, Jessie, Millard, Jr., Crystal, Michael, Anna, Daulton, Justin, and Paige; and 22 great-grandchildren who will carry forward her joyful spirit and cherished memories.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 23rd from 3:00 to 5:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm and again on Tuesday, February 24th from 11 am - 1 pm where a service will being at 1:00 pm. Interment Cedar Hill Cemetery.

 Ruth will be deeply missed by her family and community, and her love will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the honor to know her.
