Ronald Eugene Cooper, 80, a resident of Pasadena, MD for over 50 years, died at his home on June 16, 2021.
Mr. Cooper was born on August 17, 1940 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Mervin and Naomi Cooper. After graduating from high school, he served honorably in the United States Army. He later began working for Empire Construction before starting a 30 year career at Baltimore Gas and Electric (Constellation Energy). After retiring in 2010, Ronald spent a lot of time volunteering at his church, Glen Burnie United Methodist, where he drove the bus for many years and was a member of the United Methodist Men. When COVID restrictions lifted, he was there every Sunday to worship - he truly loved his church family. In his spare time, he also enjoyed playing tennis, doing yard work, maintaining and swimming in his pool, and spending time at his beach house in Ocean City. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and, being a natural born comedian, never passed up an opportunity to give them a "hard" time.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cooper is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Pamela Cooper, and brothers, Dallas and Butch Cooper. He is survived by his son, Ronald Allen Cooper and his wife, Kelley, of Glen Burnie; daughter, Tammy Barnes and her husband, Patrick, of Pasadena; brother, Terry Cooper and his wife, Paula, of Odenton; and 3 grandchildren, Brandon and Blake Cooper, and Tyler Barnes.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Burnie United Methodist Church, 5 2nd Ave SE, Glen Burnie, MD 21061 where a luncheon will follow in the social hall. Interment private.
