Roland Hobbs, Sr., 81, a 75 year resident of Baltimore City, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2020 in his home.
Mr. Hobbs was born November 12, 1938 in Maryland to the late Clay and Jesse Hobbs. He worked for the International Can Company and then at A&P where he was a part of the Teamsters Union. From there, he worked in the warehouse at Central Toyota until his retirement after 20 years of service. Mr. Hobbs loved going to the racetrack and watching the horses race. He enjoyed various types of music including R&B, Sam Cook and Otis Redding and loved sports, especially watching the Ravens and the Orioles. In his spare time, he enjoyed finding deals at thrift stores and yard sales.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hobbs is preceded in death by his wife Patricia Hobbs, brothers William Hobbs, John Quinn, George Quinn, Samuel Quinn and sisters Mary Lahner and Shirley Harrison. He is survived by his son Roland Hobbs, Jr., daughter Peggy (Hobbs) Cook and her husband David, brother Clay Hobbs, Jr., grandchildren Derrick Hobbs, Justin Hobbs, Brittany Hobbs, Bradley Cook, Ryan Cook and great granddaughter Riley Miskin.
