Pasadena, MD – Roger Thomas Powell, a beloved member of the Pasadena community for 30 years, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, at the age of 58. Born in Alexandria, Virginia, Roger was known for his devoted nature, warm smile, and an unwavering commitment to family and community.
Roger spent over a decade working as a lunch attendant at Northeast High School, where his kindness and humor left a lasting impression on students and colleagues alike. Before joining the school, he was a dedicated dump truck driver at Reliable Contracting for 15 years, showcasing his strong work ethic and dedication. Known as a fixer of things, Roger found joy in both fishing and raising chickens in his spare time, hobbies that brought him much happiness and tranquility.
Roger was a former Assistant Scout Master for Troop #441, imparting valuable life skills and wisdom to young scouts. He was also an active member of Raven Roost #18 and Roost #94, where he built cherished friendships and contributed to community projects over the years.
He is survived by his sons, Dakota 'Cody' Powell of Pasadena, MD, and Chase Powell, as well as his cousin, Brian Moore. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 38 years, Stephanie Powell, his father, Thomas Powell, and his mother, Pauline Powell. Roger cherished his family above all else and leaves behind a legacy of love and strong family values.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland, on Monday, February 24th, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with a memorial service immediately following at 7:00 pm officiated by Michael Phelps.
