Robert "Shawn" Rikard

Robert "Shawn" Rikard, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away September 26, 2021 after a brief illness at Johns Hopkins.  He was 51 years old.

He was born in Oxford, Mississippi on October 1, 1969 to the late Robert Irby and Betty Jo Rikard.   He grew up in Pasadena where he graduated from Northeast High School, class of 1987.  He then went on to serve the community of Baltimore County as a police officer and detective.  He retired in 2009 after 15 years of service.  After retirement, he began working for Sinclair Broadcasting as head of security.  

Shawn enjoyed sharing his love of hunting and fishing with his children and his friends. He had a passion for antique cars.  What he enjoyed most was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.  

He was a member of the Baltimore County FOP Lodge #4, the National Rifle Association, and several hunting and fishing clubs.  

Shawn is survived by his wife, Karla Suzanne Rikard; his children, Robert "Jesse" Rikard (Stefanie), Genevieve Elizabeth Rikard (Mitch), Logan Robert Hill, and Lauryn Elaine Hill; and his four grandchildren, Remington Cole, Jamison Lee, Isabella Mae, and Robert Jasper Rikard.  

Friends may visit on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Stallings Funeral Home, P.A. Pasadena, MD.   Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chesapeake Christian Center, 206 Weston Woods Drive, Pasadena, MD.  Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 7215 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie, MD.  Immediately following, share your memories and reminisce with family and friends at the Maryland Yacht Club, 1500 Fairview Beach Road, Pasadena,  MD.
