Robert Schmidt Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that the Schmidt family announces the passing of Robert W. Schmidt, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Robert peacefully left us on Tuesday, March 10th, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on October 1st, 1941, in Baltimore, Maryland, Robert lived a fulfilling life devoted to his family and passions.

Born and raised in the community of Linthicum, and later moving to Arbutus before moving to Pasadena for over 45 years, he was a dedicated employee of Verizon, retiring as an outside technician after 30 years of service. He was highly respected for his work ethic and contributions to the company.

Robert was also a past member of the Freestate Corvette Club, which nourished his love for automobiles. He was an avid automobile enthusiast and had a particular fondness for trains and railway models. In his leisure time, he also enjoyed gardening and spent many joyful hours nurturing his plants and bird watching.

Robert was preceded in death by his loving parents, Wilfred and Elsie Rose Schmidt, and his cherished spouses, Patricia and Ethel Schmidt. He was also predeceased by his granddaughter, Christina.

He is survived by his siblings: Dorothy Titmas, Diane Strehan, and David Schmidt; his devoted children: Michael Schmidt and his wife Karen; and Carol Wilson, along with her husband Rick. He leaves behind his precious grandchildren: Ricky, Kate, Michael Jr., Brandon, Chad, Denver, Lorin, Ryan, Eden, Logan, Mason, and Zachary; as well as his great-grandchildren: Adias, Dylan, Madylan, Cash, Josh, Finn, Lyla, Aaron, Miles, and Rhodes.

A visitation will be held at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland, on Sunday, March 15th, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and again from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Additional visitation hours will be on Monday, March 16th, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will take place at the same location on Tuesday, March 17th, 2026, at 1:30 pm.  Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Maryland Oncology Hematology in Robert’s memory.

Robert's warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm for life touched everyone he met. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known and loved him.
