Robert James Riedel

Robert James Riedel, 79, a 45 year resident of Millersville and formerly of Glen Burnie, MD, died on August 19, 2021 at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

Mr. Riedel was born on October 6, 1941 in Baltimore, MD to the late George and Dorothy Riedel. He graduated in 1959 from Glen Burnie High School and was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the early 1960s. He eventually began a long and successful career in the banking industry and retired in the early 2000s after over 35 years of service. Outside of work, Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, and crabbing.

Mr. Riedel is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Sharon Riedel; son, Jeff Riedel of Chester, MD; daughter, Elizabeth Reece of Colorado and Heather Sweet of Stevensville, MD; and 8 grandchildren, Stephen Sweet, Alex Riedel, Joe Sweet, Joshua Sweet, Abigail Reece, Hannah Riedel, Grace Reece, and Brayden Riedel.

Funeral services and interment are private.
