Robert J. Newton, Sr., 82, a resident of Pasadena for 37 years and formerly of Baltimore and Curtis Bay died on April 13, 2021 at the VA Maryland Health Care System in Perry Point.

He was born on November 30, 1938 in Fredericksburg, VA to the late Alvin and Beatrice Newton.

Mr. Newton served honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart as well as 2 Bronze Stars.

In addition to his parents Mr. Newton is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Joan Newton and his brothers Al Newton, Mack Newton, and Larry Newton.

He is survived by his children; Harriet C. Reeder, Robin Lee Westfall, Robert "Jay" Newton, Jr., Barbara Ann Moreland and  Bryan K. Newton, his brother John D. Newton, 7 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

A private service and interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery.
