It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Clark June, who departed this life on Wednesday, May 14th, 2025, at the age of 80. Robert was born on Tuesday, August 15th, 1944, in Clover, South Carolina, and had been a beloved resident of Ft. Meade for the past 50 years.
After graduating Roosevelt High School in Clover, South Carolina, Robert attended Friendship College in Rock Hill, SC before being drafted by the United States Army, proudly serving his country from 1966 to 1975, in 1st Cavalry, 101st Airborne Division achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant as an Airborne Tactical Communications Chief, and completing 2 tours in Vietnam of 18 months each.
His dedication and honorable service were followed by a distinguished civilian career as a security specialist with the Department of the Navy for 23 years. His commitment to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family and community.
A man of many interests and talents, Robert was a passionate member of the American Legion Post #276 and VFW Post #160. He had a zest for living life fully, with hobbies including bowling, basketball, fishing, grilling/cooking and enjoying the thrill of NASCAR. Robert's love for his family was evident in the joy he found spending time with family, children and his grandchildren.
A devoted Christian, Robert found peace in exploring, traveling, and taking long family drives, which nourished his adventurous spirit.
Robert is survived by his beloved daughter, Naquelle Wolfrey and her husband Patrick, daughter, Stephanie Hale, and son, Kevin Hardy and his wife Rochelle. He also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren: Nathaniel Enoch, Gabriella Gonzales, Sterling Hardy, Jarvis Hardy, Austin Wolfrey, and Byron Wolfrey, along with three loving sisters and one brother.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, Moses and Nevada June, his loving wife, Susan June, and 8 siblings who have paved the way for him in eternal rest.
While his immediate farewell will be observed with family and close friends, a future interment will be held 23rd May at 2:00pm, at the Baltimore National Cemetery in Catonsville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Perry Point VA Medical Center (Pay.gov - VA Capitol Health Care Network: VISN 5 Donation Form - Complete Agency Form) in Robert’s honor.
Robert’s legacy of kindness, humor, laughter, and service will forever be etched into the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered.
