Robert Eder

Robert Charles Eder, "Bob," of Brooklyn Park, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 24, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

He was proceeded in death by his wife Melva Lucille Eder. His parents David Eder and Anna Marie Schmidt and daughter Barbara Dungan, his brothers David Eder Jr., Michael Eder, Charles Eder, and sisters Mary Eder and Louise Eder.

He is survived by his son Robert Eder Jr. (Mimi), two grandsons Jesse Dungan (Sarah) and Kevin Dungan (Amanda). As well as his great grandchildren Kaylynn, Rylee, Olivia, Cassie, and Kevin Dungan Jr.

Bob was a proud Marine veteran who was known for his wonderful sense of humor, quick wit, and sarcastic jokes. He had a lifelong love of baseball and cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his great-grandchildren.

Bob married the love of his life, Melva, in 1956. Together they built a loving family and welcomed their daughter, Barbara Ann “Barbie” in 1958. In 1968, they welcomed their son, Robert Charles Jr “Bobby”.

Bob enjoyed a long and successful career with Citibank, where he worked until his retirement. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Bob and Melva faithfully attended church together every Sunday and created countless treasured memories with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

One of Bob's favorite family traditions, passed down through generations, was spending summers in Wildwood, New Jersey. There, family and friends would gather to enjoy the beach, make lasting memories, and indulge in a slice or two of Mack's Pizza, a tradition that remains a cherished part of his legacy.

Bob will be remembered for his love of family, his unwavering faith, his sense of humor, and the many happy memories he created with those who loved him.
