It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rick Dunmyer, a beloved father, brother, and friend, who left us on Wednesday, December 31st, 2025. Born on Sunday, August 18th, 1968, Rick lived a vibrant life filled with love, laughter, and generosity. He resided in Pasadena, MD where he built a legacy of kindness and community spirit.
Rick graduated from Chesapeake High School in 1986 and furthered his education at Frostburg College. He dedicated over 30 years of his professional life as a Traffic Engineer at Econolite. His commitment to his work was matched only by his dedication to his family and his community.
Rick cherished his role as a father to his children—Tori Dunmyer, Kenna Dunmyer, and Levi Dunmyer. He also survived by his brother, Scott Dunmyer, and continued to hold a close relationship with his former wife and caregiver, Christina Dunmyer. He was also loved and supported by a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Denny and Linda Dunmyer.
Rick had a passion for life that was evident in his hobbies and interests. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying bowling, roller hockey, football, baseball, and later, softball. He found joy in crabbing and playing poker, but above all, he loved his kids. He was actively involved in their lives, coaching them in Lakeshore field hockey, T-ball, and soccer, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met.
A celebration of Rick's life will be held at a later date. We invite friends and family to check back for updates. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
Rick's humor, kindness, and steady presence will be dearly missed, yet he leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication that will continue to inspire those who knew him. May he rest in peace.
