Robert Nils Dorsch, Sr., 87, a resident of Pasadena for 41 years and formerly of Baltimore, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022 in his home.
Mr. Dorsch was born November 27, 1934 in Baltimore, MD to the late Fritz and Emily Dorsch. He served honorably in the US Army from 1955 to 1957. He pursued a career with U.S. Customs first as a Federal Sky Marshal culminating in a career as an Import Specialist. In his free time, Mr. Dorsch enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards and board games, and the family Ocean City vacation. He was also an avid reader who frequented his local library. He was well known for his warm smile, quick wit, and generosity in his community.
Mr. Dorsch is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jacqueline Dorsch, son Robert Nils Dorsch, Jr., daughter Susan Margaret Castle and her husband Marcus S. , and grandchildren Aidan P. Castle, Jack F. Castle, Olivia R. Castle, and Lily Q. Castle. He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Arthur C. Dorsch and J. Eric Dorsch.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday, January 23 from 1-2 p.m. at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Rd., Pasadena, MD 21122 where a memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment private. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at the Ferndale Community Club, 15 5th Ave, Glen Burnie, MD 21061. Please check back for updates regarding COVID-19 and/or inclement weather.
