Richard Quinto Colaresi, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a distinguished member of his community, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 31, 2025. Born on January 24, 1944, in New Britain, Connecticut, Richard spent the last 24 years residing in Pasadena, Maryland, where he built a life filled with love, service, and accomplishment.
Richard's early career was shaped by his time with the Order of the Brothers of Holy Cross, where he began as a teacher of English and Latin, imparting knowledge and passion to his students for seven years. His dedication to education was also demonstrated in his work as an author, having recently published "The Aeneid: A New Prose Translation" in January 2025, a project that took him a decade to complete.
Transitioning from education to law, Richard became a seasoned litigator focusing on Constitutional and Civil Rights issues, a field in which he excelled for over forty years. He devoted many years of service to Karp, Colaresi, and Karpinski, where he worked until his retirement in 2016. Clients and colleagues alike were influenced by his expertise, commitment, and integrity throughout his legal career.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Diane Colaresi; his children, son Michael Colaresi and daughter Lydia Colaresi; step-son Anthony Caligiuri, and step-daughter Elizabeth Rouse. He leaves behind his siblings, Dolores Moroni, Father Robert Colaresi, Linda Colaresi, and Ronald Colaresi. He was the proud grandfather to eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who will all dearly miss him. He was predeceased by his parents, Quinto Adam Colaresi and Lucy Alice Colaresi, who are now, surely, welcoming their son with open arms.
Richard's legacy of love and service leaves a lasting impact on his family, friends, and the broader community. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, by clicking HERE or mail to 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122, in Richard's honor.
