Ray Shiflett, a 30 year resident of Millersville, MD, died on February 10, 2024 at the Hospice of the Chesapeake.
Ray was born December 18, 1941 on the family farm in Anne Arundel County to the late Grover and Ruby Shiflett. A jack of all trades, he worked many jobs in his life. Most notably were as a welder during the building of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and as a Longshoreman with the Local #333 in Baltimore until his retirement at age 59. He was called on often by family and friends to help with projects and car repairs. He was a member of the All Seasons Rod and Gun Club for many years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and working on his property.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Shiflett is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Patricia Shiflett as well as his brothers, Fred, James, Joseph Shiflett, and sisters, Mary Fogle and June Stombs. He is survived by his children, Cathy Hall, Ray Shiflett (Suzanne), Troy Shiflett (Christina); brother, William Shiflett of North Carolina; sisters, Jean Tate of Brooklyn Park and Ida Shiflett of Severna Park; grandchildren, Crystal Shiflett, Lauren Hall, Dominic Hall, Ciera Shiflett, Layne Shiflett and 4 great grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit Wednesday, February 14th and Thursday, February 15th from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122 where a services will be held Friday, February 16th at 11:00 am. A cremation is to follow.
