Pete Gonzales, Sr. Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pete Gonzales Sr., who peacefully left this world on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, in Baltimore, Maryland. Born on Thursday, June 29, 1944, in Humble, Texas, Pete lived a full and vibrant 80 years of life.

For the past 11 years, Pete called Glen Burnie home, having moved from his beloved Austin, Texas. He proudly served his country as a member of the Army during the Vietnam War, earning honorable recognition for his dedicated service.

Pete's life revolved around his family and community. He spent much of his career working alongside his wife, cleaning houses and daycares in Texas. Pete was known not only for his work ethic but also for his passion for reading his Bible, watching SPN, cooking and crafting new recipes, a pastime he cherished dearly. He was equally passionate about his four-legged friends, Blaze and Callie, and was an avid supporter of Texas sports teams.

Pete is survived by his loving wife, Juanita Gonzales; his devoted son, Pete Gonzales Jr., and his wife Kathleen; his devoted daughter, Jennifer Scott, and her husband Jason; his caring sister, Lydia Perez; his brothers, Nathan and Conrad Gonzales; and his precious granddaughter, Emily Gonzales. Pete's legacy as a family man and a devoted friend will be carried on through the lives he touched.

He joins in eternal rest his father, Rosendo Gonzales; his mother, Juana Gonzales; and brothers Robert, Freddy, Joe, and Paul Gonzales, who preceded him in death.

Services to honor Pete’s memory will be held at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland. An afternoon visitation will be available on Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, followed by an evening visitation from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The funeral service will take place on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 11:30 am and will also be streamed here and on our Facebook page by clicking here. Interment will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, where he will receive military honors befitting his service.

In lieu of flowers, Pete’s family requests donations be made to local animal shelters, reflecting his profound love for animals.

Pete will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of warmth, service, and generosity will forever endure in our hearts.
