Paul Bruce Obituary

Paul Sullivan Bruce Jr, a lifelong resident of Pasadena, Maryland, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, December 24th, 2024, at the age of 89. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on May 3rd, 1935, Paul was known for his steadfast dedication to family, friends, and community.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Paul's life was filled with love, laughter, and hard work. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 34 years, Patricia Ann Bruce, his parents, Paul Sullivan Bruce Sr and Mary Priscilla Butler, his son Donald Bruce, sisters Amy Bruno and Irene Ingram, and brother Jim Chaney.

Paul is survived by his devoted children: daughters Laura Hurwitz and Leslie Brown, and sons Paul Bruce Bryan Bruce. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Erika Kopp, Alayna Bruce, Keaira Bruce, Autumn Capozzi, Ethan Hurwitz, and Owen Hurwitz, who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.

Paul enjoyed a long and industrious career as a longshoreman, dedicating 53 years to the Longshoreman's Union. His dedication and work ethic defined his professional life, while his hobbies and passions added color and vibrancy to his personal life. A member of the Train Collector's Association, Paul was an avid collector of coins, trains, and cars, and found great joy in discovering the value in everyday items. His curiosity extended to nature, where he loved to spend time bird watching.

Known for his humor and kindness, Paul had a unique ability to bring laughter into any room. His jokes and humorous demeanor endeared him to all who knew him. Stubborn yet generous, Paul had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a hand.

Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Paul are invited to attend the funeral services at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland, on Tuesday, December 31st, 2024. A visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm, with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 pm. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park.

Paul Bruce will be remembered not only for his loyalty and dedication but also for the joy and laughter he brought to others. His humor and warmth will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in the stories and memories shared by all who knew and loved him.
