Nona G. (Cadarette) Brookshire-Povlsen

Nona G. Brookshire-Povlsen (nee Cadarette) passed away at the age of 74 on Sunday, November 13th, 2022. Nona is survived by her loving husband Gert Povlsen and her son Steven C. Brookshire.  Nona is survived by sister Sandra Bennett and brother Dennis Cadarette. Nona is predeceased by her mother Rena Cadarette (nee Curtis), father Raymond A. Cadarette and brother Curtis Cadarette. Nona has lived her entire life in Anne Arundel County, short of 1 year in Las Vegas. Nona started her work life after finishing Andover High school in '66. Nona worked for a few companies – 2-Guys, unknown in Vegas and later Maryland Correctional System in Brockbridge. After a couple of incidents at the prison, she leaves on disability in 1990. She spends her time here in AA County and with her family, father Raymond and new wife Allison in Florida. Nona's ability to connect with people was exceptional. She had great friends in every part of her travel area, due to her desire to help and understand others needs. In 1999 Nona marries Gert Povlsen which makes her travel area inclusive of Northern parts of Europe – Denmark in particular.

Visitation will be 11/28/2022 at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, Maryland 21122, with access 3pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm.

A separate graveside service on 11/29/2022, will be held at Parkwood Cemetery, 3310 Taylor Ave., Baltimore, Maryland 21234, starting at 1:15pm.
