It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nicholas Brescia Jr., who departed this world on Monday, May 18th, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on Saturday, August 25th, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York, Nicholas was a cherished son of the late Nicholas Ralph Brescia Sr. and Norma Brescia.
Nicholas made his home in Pasadena, Maryland, since 1972. He dedicated his professional life to serving his country as an employee of the U.S. Government, a testament to his profound love for his nation.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Nicholas was deeply embedded in his community. He found great joy and fulfillment in coaching little league in Riviera Beach for several years, where he inspired and mentored young athletes. An avid sports fan, Nicholas never missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams. His passion for sports was matched only by his love of reading, hiking, carpentry and traveling.
Nicholas Brescia Jr. will be remembered as a kind, gentle, and loving man who cherished the time he spent with his family. He leaves behind his loving wife Denise Brescia. His legacy continues through his three beloved children, Sean N. Brescia of Baltimore, Patrick N. Brescia of Pasadena, and Katherine M. Oppel and her husband Eric of Rosedale. He is also survived by his siblings, Ralph Brescia of California and Lucille Valentine and her husband Joseph of New Jersey.
The joy of his life extended to his adored grandchildren, Madelyn P. Brescia and Brady Oppel, who brought him immeasurable happiness. His memory will also live on in the hearts of numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Family and friends will remember Nick not only for the love he shared but also for the loyal, steadfast patriotism he exhibited throughout his life. His passion for travel and exploration was eclipsed only by the joy he found in spending time with his loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness.
Nicholas Brescia Jr.'s life was a testament to his character and values. He will be dearly missed by all those fortunate enough to have known him.
