Nancy Cebula Obituary

Nancy Lee Cebula, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on Monday, October 20th, 2025, just shy of her 81st birthday. Born on October 25th, 1944, in Venetia, Pennsylvania, Nancy resided in Catonsville, Maryland, where she helped raise her grandsons for over three decades.

Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Angeline Yanketis, her husband, Stephen Cebula, and her daughter, Sherry Poling. Her legacy is lovingly carried on by her children, Elizabeth Cataldo and Jeffery Pendleton, along with his wife Vickie. She was also a cherished sister to Toni Bosworth, Frances Hatcher, and Butch Yanketis. She was an impeccable grandmother to Raymond Morris and his partner Alex Stajka, Nick Hoffman and his wife Taylor, and Rachel Thompson.

Nancy's warmth and love extended to her great-grandchildren, Braxton and Maddox, and even to her beloved grand-dog, Luna.

She spent her career at Northrop Grumman as a purchaser in the procurement department, where she was known for her dedication and work ethic, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and customers alike. Outside of her professional life and during her retirement, Nancy and her husband were active boaters, belonging to the Kent Island Yacht Club. Nancy spent many years on the water, anchored off coastal shores, spending it with her children and grandchildren. She loved the water and the bottomless adventures it offered her throughout life. She was an avid reader, finding solace, mystery, and adventure in the text of the countless books she read. She was passionate about gardening, a pastime that allowed her to cultivate beauty and tranquility in her backyard, which she liked to call her, “little corner of the world”. Nancy's personality was marked by a stubborn resolve, which she wielded with love. She was deeply committed to personal independence. Her nonjudgmental, caring, and accepting nature touched everyone she met, allowing her to form lasting friendships wherever she went. More than anything, Nancy was a mother and a grandmother, always involved in her children's and grandchildren's lives.

A memorial service to honor Nancy's life will be held at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland, on Sunday, November 9th, 2025, at 2:00 pm. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Nancy are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of this remarkable woman.

Nancy Lee Cebula will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her spirit continue to sail across calm waters and her garden forever bloom with love.
