N. Thomas Phelps Obituary

N. Thomas "Tom" Phelps, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, in his home in Pasadena, Maryland. He was a cherished presence in the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, humor, and unwavering love.

Tom is survived by his devoted wife, Diana, and their children: Lisa Moore and Beth Taby, along with his son Noah Phelps and his wife Megan. He was the proud grandfather of Gabriella Moore, Alexander Myers, and Raymond Myers, who brought immense joy to his life. He also leaves behind his brothers, David Phelps and Daniel Harzarik with his wife Tammy, and his sister Christina Blough with her husband Paul, as well as numerous cherished nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his loving parents, George and Lena Phelps, and his sister Elaine Phelps, Tom's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of his family and friends.

Tom's life was as vibrant and full of adventure as he was. He found joy in hot-air ballooning, sailing, traveling, and spent countless hours on the golf course teaching his son and grandchildren the art of the game. A man of refined taste, Tom appreciated a fine bottle of wine and a strong glass of bourbon, often paired with his exquisite culinary creations. His love for his family knew no bounds, and he relished every opportunity to spoil his grandchildren.

An avid reader and gun collector, Tom's interests were as diverse as his personality. As a young man, he was a talented drummer, and throughout his life, he remained involved in various organizations, including La Dolce Vita and the Boy Scouts during his son's participation. He was known for his quick wit and playful nature, often playing the role of a jokester, though beneath his tough exterior lay a true gentleman with a heart of gold. One of his favorite songs, "My Way" by Frank Sinatra, truly encapsulates the spirit with which he lived his life.

A respected businessman, Tom co-owned 177 Liquors for many years, where he was deeply admired in the community.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at 5:00 pm at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Tom's remarkable life and share in the fond memories that he leaves behind.

Tom Phelps's legacy of love and laughter will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
