It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Milton Thomas Staples II, who peacefully departed this world on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on April 1, 1944, in Suitland, Maryland, Milton was a cherished member of the Pasadena, Maryland, community, where he resided for many years.
Milton was a graduate of Suitland High School and pursued a career as a machinist at TWA, dedicating his skills and labor to the field. He was not only a proud member of the International Aerospace and Machinists Union Local 842 but also used his expertise to make meaningful contributions throughout his career.
A veteran of the United States Army, Milton served as a Ranger Medic, demonstrating valor and commitment during his service. His quiet, reserved nature and mild-mannered demeanor endeared him to all who knew him. Despite his reserved nature, his warmth shone brightly through his care for his family—especially his grandchildren, whom he adored like his own children.
Milton had a passion for sports, particularly basketball and boxing, and shared his knowledge and skills by also being a karate instructor. He was known for his quiet strength and gentle spirit, making a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents, Milton Thomas Staples and Serena P. Staples, as well as his brother, Marcus Staples. He is survived by his loving children, Leslie Couchenhour, Jr., and Eric Thomas Staples, who will continue to honor his legacy. Milton also leaves behind his cherished siblings, Joyce and Diane, and his beloved grandchildren, Morgon Thomas Staples and Alyssa Christine Staples.
His family, friends, and community will remember Milton for his genuine kindness, steadfast dedication, and the enduring love he offered.
A burial of ashes will be held at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD 21032 on Monday, February 2nd at 10:45 am.
Milton’s gentle soul and loving nature will forever be remembered and missed dearly. May he rest in peace.
