Melanie M. (Yates) Welsh

Melanie M. Welsh, 53, a lifelong resident of Glen Burnie, MD, died on May 1, 2021 at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

Mrs. Welsh was born on December 24, 1967 in Chicago, IL to the late Barton and Shirley Yates. 

Melanie will be remembered as someone who absolutely loved anything to do with the water: sunning on the beach, swimming in the ocean, crabbing, and fishing, to name a few. She even planned to take a road trip to the zero mile marker in the Florida Keys. She would have loved taking that trip in her Jeep, especially since she just recently put a lift kit on it. Melanie really just enjoyed being outdoors, even if it was just taking care of her lawn, planting flowers, scrapping, or playing with her 13 cats whom she loved so much. However, above all these things, she truly loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and they loved her. She will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Welsh is also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 37 years, William Welsh, Jr. She is survived by her sons, James Yates of North Carolina and William Welsh and his wife, Angel, of Florida; sister, Melissa Justice; 1 grandson, Levi; 1 grandson on the way, Bryson; 1 nephew, Donnie; and 3 nieces, Ashley, Danielle, and Christina.

Funeral services and interment are private.
