Matilda M. Tremper, 85, a four year resident of Appomattox, VA., formerly a resident of Pasadena, MD., died on Friday, September 15, 2023 at her and her daughter's home in Appomattox, VA.
She was born on Thursday, September 23rd, 1937 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Chester and Irene Ream. Matilda (or Tillie as she was known) was a homemaker. She enjoyed her family get togethers, going out for long drives and going out to eat, especially for her Maryland Seafood. But most of all she loved God, her pastor (Rev. Robert Hill) and going to church, including Vacation Bible School and Church Camp. She loved to sing and listen to preaching and gospel music. In her free time Tillie liked to play board games, do crafts and go camping.
In addition to her parents, Matilda is preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Tremper; her daughter Brenda Feehly; a son-in-law (Paul Cockerham); a granddaughter, Jackie Johnson; a great great grandson, Simon Whalen; two brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her children Karen Witkoski (John), Dawn Cockerham, Bobbi Johnson, and Judith Richards (Steve); nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.
Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, September 20th, 2023 at Stallings Funeral Home Pasadena, Maryland from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Thursday, September 21st, 2023 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm where funeral services will take place on Friday, September 22nd, 2023 at 10:30 am. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park.
