Mary Alice Mitchell

Mary Alice Mitchell, 85, a lifelong resident of Maryland, died at her daughter's home on Thursday, May 19, 2022.

Mrs. Mitchell was born on Saturday, March 20th, 1937 in Glen Burnie, Maryland to the late Wilbur Frederick Emge and Lillian Marie Emge. She began working as a lunch lady at Sunset Elementary School in 1975 and finished her career at Northeast High School in 1997. Outside of work, Mary Alice was a longtime member of Solley United Methodist Church where she served as Secretary and Treasurer for many years and was also the Treasurer for her local chapter of the United Methodist Women. Above all, Mrs. Mitchell loved her family and always made them her number one priority. She was truly a mother and grandmother extraordinaire.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mitchell is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Charles Donald Mitchell; 3 brothers; 3 sisters; and 2 grandchildren, Ellen and Eric Mitchell. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Georgiana) E. Mitchell of Gettysburg, PA and Craig (Kelly) A. Mitchell of Earleville, MD; daughter, Kimberly (Donald) M. Auman of Pasadena, MD; 4 grandchildren, Kevin (Gabby) Mitchell, Robert (Katie) J. Mitchell, Lindsay (Scott) Fleming, and Brian Auman; and 3 great-grandchildren, Miles Mitchell and Logan and Blake Fleming.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, May 24th, 2022 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at Stallings Funeral Home where funeral services will take place at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
