Mary Allender

Mary Allender, a lifelong resident of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25th, 2025, at the age of 99. Born on Thursday, July 16th, 1925, Mary was a cherished member of her community and a beloved matriarch of her family.

Mary dedicated her life to creating a loving home for her family as a homemaker. Her Sundays were often filled with the aromas of her delicious meals, as she lovingly prepared Sunday dinner for her family—a tradition that will be fondly remembered by all who gathered around her table. She also delighted in visiting the horse racetrack, a pastime that brought her much joy throughout her life.

Mary is preceded in death by her dear husband, Leroy F. Allender, Sr.; her parents, Salvidore and Julia Peraro; her son, the late Harry Allender; and her brother, Salvidore Peraro. Her memory will be cherished by her surviving family members: her sons, Leroy F. Allender Jr., Donald Allender, Jerry Michael Allender, Ronald Allender, and Samuel Allender; 5 daughter-in-laws, Kathy, Ann, Leslie, Carrie, and Colleen, her sisters, Evelyn Pitarro and Elizabeth Knox; her eighteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate Mary's remarkable life will be held at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland, on Monday, February 3rd, 2025, at 2:00 pm. Visitation will also take place at Stallings Funeral Home on the same day, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, allowing family and friends to pay their respects and share cherished memories of Mary.

Mary Allender was a pillar of love and warmth for her family and will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
