Marilyn Jo Belz, 83, a resident of Glen Burnie for 55 years, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
Mrs. Belz was born December 13, 1939 in Johnstown, PA to the late Joseph and Sara Hoover. A dedicated homemaker, Mrs. Belz enjoyed cooking and caring for her household. She attended Glen Burnie United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. In her free time, she would take trips to Ocean City, MD with her husband Karl and her family where they would often go boating. She also loved to take her chair down to the beach and sit in the sand for hours. In general, Mrs. Belz loved to travel with her family. Together, they went on many cruises. A social butterfly, Mrs. Belz had a lot of friends. She was described as being very outgoing, personable and talkative, especially on the phone. She liked to entertain, especially hosting pool parties at their house. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and would attend all of their events. She will be sorely missed.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Belz is preceded in death by her sisters, Sally Klaum and Louise Davis. She survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Karl Belz; daughters Kelley Cooper and Kristie Radford; grandchildren Brandon Cooper, Blake Cooper, Trevor Radford, Taran Radford, Trent Radford and great grandson Barrett Cooper.
A memorial service will take place Friday, January 27th at 11:00 am at Glen Burnie Methodist Church, 5 2nd Avenue SE, Glen Burnie, MD 21061 where a luncheon will follow at the Social Hall.
