Marie S. Hicks, age 96, of Pasadena, Maryland, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 23rd, 2025. Born on January 12th, 1929, in Baltimore, Maryland, Marie was a cherished member of the Solley community in Pasadena for most of her life.
Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George H. Hicks, with whom she shared many beautiful years of marriage. She was also preceded by her parents, Andrew and Margaret Borkoski, her son Thomas Hicks, and siblings John, Andrew, Peter, Melvin, Albert, Joseph, and Alexander Borkoski, along with sisters Florence DiGiovanni, Lula Vogt, Nora Moore, Stella Troch, and Rose Morgan.
She is survived by her loving sons, Charles W. Hicks, Sr. and his wife Lynn, and George A. Hicks and his wife April. Her legacy continues through her sister Margaret Levinsky, cherished grandchildren, Chuck, Jennifer, Kimberlee, Daniel Cody, Jake, Taylor, and great-grandchildren, Chuckie, Emily, Hannah, Grace, Cooper, and Connor and 1 great-great grandchild, Ryder who brought immense joy to her life.
Marie led a fulfilling career as a Mail Room Worker at Port City Press for 18 years, retiring in 1990. Her retirement was spent indulging in her passions, including playing bingo at the Stoney Creek Democratic Club and crabbing and fishing from her campsite at Taylor's Island Family Campground on the Eastern Shore. Marie had a great love for animals and spent much time cooking for and enjoying the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marie’s life will be celebrated during a funeral service held at Stallings Funeral Home 3111 Mountain Road Pasadena, Maryland, 21122 on Thursday, July 3rd, 2025, at 11:00 am. The service will be officiated by Rev. Dr. John Warren. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at the same location on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A private graveside burial of cremains will be held at a later date.

Marie S. Hicks was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched with her kindness and unwavering love.
