Margaret L. Benson, 86, a 30 year resident of Millersville, MD and formerly of Glen Burnie, died at her home on December 15, 2020.
Ms. Benson was born on December 2, 1934 in Baltimore, MD to the late James and Helen Benson. She graduated from Glen Burnie Senior High School in 1952. Margaret eventually began a career at BG&E in Woodlawn, where she advanced through multiple promotions and retired after 44 years of service. Outside of work, she enjoyed reading, gathering with her friends at the St. Jane Frances Seniors Club, and bowling with the Odds and Ends Bowling League at Fair Lanes on Jumpers Hole Road. Margaret was also a member of the Maryland State Bowling Association and a past member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church.
Ms. Benson is survived by her sister, Audrey Ernest of Pasadena; brother, James Benson of Pasadena; aunt, Anna Louise Behrle of Tennessee; devoted best friend, Joan Boerner; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Myers and Patricia Gross.
Family and friends may visit on Saturday, December 19 from 11:00-11:30 a.m. at Severna Park Baptist Church, 506 Benfield Rd., Severna Park, MD 21146 where funeral services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
