Madeline Alberta Lenz, 92, a lifelong resident of Pasadena, MD, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
Mrs. Lenz was born on September 30, 1927 in Baltimore, MD to the late Albert and Madeline Wehrheim. In her youth, she worked at the family business, Wehrheim Grocery on Riverside Avenue. During the 1940s, she worked for Riviera Drug Store and the May Company in Baltimore. After starting a family with her husband, Alvin, Madeline became a dedicated homemaker who found great joy in raising her children.
In her spare time, she enjoyed volunteering with the Girl Scouts, helping out in the St. Jane Frances library, reading, cooking, and taking trips with Alvin to the flea market and toy car shows. She was also a longtime member of Our Lady of the Chesapeake Catholic Church in Pasadena.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lenz is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Alvin Lenz and step-sister, Regina Klatt. She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey A. Lenz of Savage and James A. Lenz of Pasadena; daughters, Joan E. Baer of Annapolis and Janette M. Parks of Pasadena; 8 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, June 29 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Rd., Pasadena, MD 21122 where funeral services will take place on Tuesday, June 30 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Please be aware that, due to county-mandated COVID-19 restrictions, Stallings Funeral Home is only allowing 35 people in the building at a time and face coverings must be worn while inside.
